Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff was born on April 3, 1922 in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Her father is a music teacher and his name is William Kappelhoff and her mother is Alma Sophia Kappelhoff. Doris thought that she was born in 1924 but she believed that it was in 1922 after seeing her birth certificate. She had 2 brothers that died early before 1960 and their names are Richard Kappelhoff and Paul Kappelhoff.
Doris Day was married 4 times. Her first marriage was from 1941-1943 to Al Jorden who died in 1967, then she married the saxophonist George Weidler who died in 1989 and they were together from 1946-1949.
