Anton Yelchin was born on March 11, 1989, in Saint Petersburg, Russia. He was born to Irina Korina and Viktor Yelchin, former figure skaters. His family is Jewish. According to Anton, his grandparents were victims of Stalin’s hard rules. He also mentioned that his parents qualified to participate in the 1972 Winter Olympics but they were not allowed to go. They were prevented by the government authorities.
